Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
It's hard to part with Serengeti. But on our way back towards the Ngorongoro Mountains apparently no less captivating. Along the way our eyes continue to be spoiled by the vast prairie landscape which looks herd grazing animals of different kinds together. I tried fad count, but tired of giving up to get an accurate count each count reached over 200.
We arrived at the campground Simba 1 before 7 pm, after dinner we get some rest so that the next morning refreshed and ready to venture down into the valley Ngorongoro Crater.
At 6 am the next day, the morning sun begins to rise and the light instantly warms the remnants freezing overnight at the camp - which is more or less reminiscent of the cold mountains of Bromo in Central Java, Indonesia. After breakfast we proceeded immediately rushed down to the valley.
Ngorongoro Crater - a World Wonder-8 version of the adventurous safari - situated at an altitude of 2236 meters above sea level and is the world's largest intact caldera of a collapsed volcano summit. Diameter at 19.2 kilometers with a surface area of 304 sq. km. Crater wall has a height of 610 meters and looks solid stretches form of protection for thousands of wild animals that live in it.
When we start getting into the territory of the valley, in addition to seeing a herd of zebras, elephants, deer antelope were grazing, we also see the surface of Lake Magadi, salty lake at the bottom of the valley filled with birds flamingo pink.
We ended our trip in the Ngorongoro valley with lunch break in the area that are still in the valley called Ngoitoktok Spring. There we saw a herd of horses being nil bathing in the river.
Gregory forbade us to eat lunch outside the car, because it's too dangerous. Hippos can climb onto land and attack the Black Kite bird swooped down to peck at food in our hands (big risk hits in our hands and injured).
But we were allowed to get out of the car and take pictures ria in a pasture near the exit valley Ngorongoro Crater before we continued our journey to Lake Manyara National Park where we will have an adventure safari to walk along the lake area.
Lake Manyara National Park
After resting overnight at the campsite Panorama, we went on our last safari in the Lake Manyara National Park. In this region we can easily see the panoramic view of the Great Rift Valley is captivating.
The Great Rift Valley is a geographical and geological feature that tore the continent into two parts, extends along approximately 6,000 kilometers from northern Syria to Mozambique in East Africa. Name valley is given by a traveler named John Walter Gregory.
Great Valley Gap is also the source of some fossils that have been helping research into human evolution. Upland erosion has led to the faster this valley filled with sediment, creating an environment that is able to preserve the remnants of history well.
The bones of several hominid ancestors of modern humans have been found there, including "Lucy", the form of the bones of australopithecines older than 3 million years.
Our own journey to the realm of the lake began to walk away from the village of Mto Wa Mbu (Mosquito River Village). We crossed the thick-trunked trees acacia yellow.
Juma, guides in this area explains that the color of the trunk is at the origin of the term Yellow Fever, because a lot of people allegedly attacked by a fever after passing tree. Yellow Acacia Tree is widely grown in many areas flooded to become a favorite of naughty causes fever mosquito.
After walking about 15 minutes past the hedge trees, we arrived at the vast arid desert merangas. When the rainy season this vast meadow is part of Lake Manyara, one of the salty lake at the base of the Great Valley Gap. Above ground cracks etched many footprints footprints of animals such as hippos, rhinos, buffaloes and flamingo birds.
We continued to walk down to the lake Manyara which still has water in the dry season, and it looks a great group of birds flaminggo are kidding on the lake surface - as well as saying goodbye welcome - before we had to return to the city of Arusha ending this amazing safari adventure.
