Adventure to the village of Wae Rebo
The village is a tourist destination opportunities for those who like adventure. Worth a vacation destination reference in the wildlife forest. Natural beauty, rich culture, traces the history and life of its people. Penetrate the wilderness all the time about 5 hours, through the mountain slopes, along streams, climb to the entire force. It's exhausting!
Wae Rebo Village is a traditional indigenous village in Manggarai, Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara, which is in the mountains at an altitude of 1200 asl. Nobody guessed this village has won the highest award from UNESCO – Asia Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation, August 2012.
Fatigue climb mountains, paid off when successfully set foot in Wae Rebo. Its main attraction is the 7 custom homes and conical thatched roofed with thatch, called mbaru Niang. Ancient village which is inhabited by 19 generations.
They live in the mountains with their coffee plant, whereas women often weave traditional fabrics - called “cura” patterned with its bright motifs. Although secluded behind the mountains, the pulse of life Wae Rebo actually more known to tourists from various countries.
Another uniqueness is obtained when visitors can stay in their traditional house, which is called mbaru Niang or niang houses and the community that permeates the very earthy life. Niang houses with conical roofs made of palm leaves. The numbers are only 7, not more.
