6 tourist area will become the Geopark - Part 1

The International Network of Geoparks through UNESCO initiated six tourist areas in Indonesia become the geopark, these areas have been known previously with its beautiful landscapes, unique culture, and traces of archaeological and geological characteristics.

The idea is considered appropriate for the conservation and development of the area, in addition to the interests of geology, geopark also protect the archaeological heritage, biodiversity, and culture.

1. Area of Mount Batur, Bali. Cool-temperate and cold region located in Kintamani, Bangli has been known by tourists visiting Bali.

Travelers will be pampered with a view of Lake Batur at an altitude of 1031 meters (above sea level) as well as natural beauty, temples and Balinese architecture building, a row of art galleries, souvenir stalls and craft various forms to treat lure. There are craft centers of natural stone, wood, glass, and silver on the sides of the road to stop off on route.

2. Mount Rinjani, Lombok. It has been recognized by the international community as a tourist attraction, the climb of Mount Rinjani as high as 3,726 meters above sea level, as it has a natural route.

In this mountain region are Lake Segara Anak located at an altitude of 2010 meters above sea level, which can be achieved through the two official channels Senaru route and takes about 10 hours by walk for approximately eight kilometers away, and the path of Sembalun with relative the same time, ie 10 hours. Still takes 4-5 hours to reach the summit of the mountain region of Lake Segara Anak. A challenging route for travelers who like climbing.

3. Karst Mountains Sewu, Pacitan, Wonogiri. This region is geographically has unique karts with its mystery karst phenomena, the region geologically has many millions of years the number of caves and underground rivers.

Originally seabed is lifted because the energy from the earth, is now used as a name similar to the type of karst in the Gunungkidul. In prehistoric times thousands years ago, Mount Sewu karst area is the center of human settlements.

In addition to the above three areas that have been proposed, and since the year of 2012 others becoming the geopark regions, during the period of 2012 to 2014 three other areas turn immediately according to the original idea.
