Palacio de Sal, a hotel made of salt

Don Juan Quesada in Bolivia has an unique idea after seeing that a site contains a lot of salt on the country's soil. He had a dream and want to realize their ideas, build a hotel made of salt in the world.

This idea soon accomplishment, a tourist resort there, Palacio de Sal is really a hotel that uses salt as a base for the building.

The resort was built with one million blocks of solid salt each measuring 35 centimeters of more than 1,300 square meters, looks very posh! Complete with some facilities like a golf course, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and a bath with salt water that characterizes this hotel.

It took two years to build the structure of the building. The blocks are made of salt bricks for the building like a hotel. Part of the building had to be rebuilt even during the rainy season due to water damage the structure of the salt block.

He built it in the mid-1990s, was demolished in 2002. Then he was rather annoyed, because his ideas imitated. He believes that the Palacio de Sal is still made of the best and biggest salt hotel. The hotel is able to accommodate 48 people with room rates starting from 85 pounds per night, with a bed like an igloo, made of blocks of salt.

"All of our guests were so impressed with this hotel and even tried to lick the walls and furniture made from salt to ascertain whether it is made of salt," said Pedro Pablo Michel Rocha, a spokesman for the hotel.

Another great feature is the swimming pool, table, and chairs in the dining room, and golf courses are also made of sodium chloride.

If you are in this resort area, remember not to lick the walls, it will taste salty!
