6 heritage buildings in the Old Town will be submitted to UNESCO

Registration will be conducted in the year of 2018



Jakarta Old Town is getting active to enroll eligible buildings in the category of cultural heritage, in order to facilitate the maintenance measures and long-term care. The region will continue to develop educational understanding of the Old Town area to the whole society.


UNESCO registration process conducted by the city government and the Ministry of Tourism, through discussions with UNESCO Jakarta on buildings which could be maintained, such as the Maritime Museum, Jakarta History Museum, Museum of Ceramics, Puppet Museum, Museum Mandiri and Bank Indonesia Museum.


Unique region with the beauty of the architecture and spatial dynamics of the city, making it one of the best in Asia Old Town, even one in the world.


Old Town of Jakarta is often called the Oud Batavia, where the history of the past as the "Pearl of the Orient" and "Queen of the East", when the merchants of Europe and Asia meet in Bandar Jakarta, with a beauty that is similar to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and as a center of trade in Asian continent.
