Wellness and Healthcare Tourism in Bali Today

A study conducted by KPMG International shows the estimated increase in health tourism spending to 100 billion U.S. dollars in 2012, an increase of 20 percent to 30 percent from 78.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2010.

It is also shown in wellness tourism activities are recorded at spending by 106 billion U.S. dollars in 2010. Several countries in Southeast Asia such as Thailand also began to make a focus on medical tourism and other types of herbal and traditional medicine.

Consider this type of tourism, the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia is very serious to develop health tourism program, which received support from the hospitality institutions in Bali - Bali Hotels Association with integrated movement "Indonesian Wellness and Healthcare Tourism Movement".
