Referring to a TripAdvisor report comparing the amount spent taken from the report of second annual TripAdvisor TripIndex Room Service, which compares the average cost of an overnight stay at the hotel and room service charges in 48 popular tourist destinations around the world.
Hotel room rate (derived from the same hotel) determine the average cost of one night's stay in 4 and 5 star hotels in each destination between June 1 to August 31, 2014. Price was taken in the prevailing prices between February 3, 2014 and February 20, 2014 and the currency conversion rate taken on February 17, 2014.
Helsinki is currently the most expensive city in the world, by calculating the price of a club sandwich ordered through room service, shirts laundry, as well as the price of a bottle of water, peanuts, mini bottle of Vodka, and a can of cola that is in the mini bar.
