Indonesia developed the Geopark Tourism


Lake Toba

Currently, Indonesia has 127 volcanoes that could potentially be a geopark, as submitted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 5, 2014. According to the ministry, the concept of geopark is a geological concept for the development of the area into a tourist area.

Some of the fascinating mountain region in the country, such as the Bukit Barisan mountain region that stretches almost the entire length of the island of Sumatra. Mountainous region in northern Sumatra gives charm through spectacular scenery, Lake Toba.

Mount Rinjani

Likewise, Merangin in Jambi province, Gunung Sewu in Java, Raja Ampat region in Papua, Mount Rinjani in West Nusa Tenggara. And of course Mount Batur in Bali that previously proposed and recognized by the UNESCO in 2012 as a geopark.
