"Clean the Ocean for Future Live" - Sail Wakatobi Belitong 2011

A tourism activities in Indonesia after the event had previously been success implemented in Bunaken (Sail Indonesia 2009) and in the Banda Islands (Sail Indonesia 2010), the Indonesian government seems serious about building the world of tourism for the region which has received less media coverage, preparing improved quality of public services infrastructure for tourists to reach out and gain easy access to the tourist sites.

The theme of the event is "Clean the Ocean for Future Live" is intended to address climate change caused by rising sea surface temperatures resulting from various management activities that do not meet the standards of marine environmental management.

Good opportunity for tourists to choose between the tourist sites in both places, namely in the Wakatobi in August or Belitong in October 2011. Indonesian government established a committee of the event, the Sail Wakatobi-Belitong 2011 (SWB) to tone up at both locations.

City of Wangi-Wangi, Southeast Sulawesi, starting on July 16, 2011 and the city of Billiton started in Tanjung Pandan Beach, Saturday, July 30, 2011.

The series of major activities organized by the committee include three-dimensional activities, ie sports, art and culture, and social service to the areas that are difficult to reach:

1. Maritime Operations “Baskara Surya Jaya” (with Indonesian Navy) and the International Civic doing activities visit remote areas in Indonesia, the health-related fields.
2. Annual Yacht Event Competition "Sail Indonesia Yacht Rally and Race 2011" followed by 40 countries across the 21 districts in Indonesia waters ranging from Kupang to the Billiton Islands in October.
3. Youth Activities “Nusantara Youth Sea Cross 2011” (Lintas Nusantara Remaja dan Pemuda Bahari 2011) to youth participants from all provinces using the ships navigate the sea of Indonesia.
4. "Maritime Seminar and Exhibition" in September 2011 on fisheries and marine products which are managed by the SME.
5. Tourist Attraction
a. Underwater Wedding Ceremony in bulk
b. Chess Competitions under the sea
c. Movement of sea grass planting
d. International Environmental Film Festival
e. Photography Marine/Underwater Contest open for all individual or groups
f. And various other tourist activities including culinary competitions and crafts of the local beach residents

Top main event will be held at 5 to 12 October 2011 in Cape Coast Kelayang (Pantai Tanjung Kelayang), while in the Wakatobi Islands took place in the city of Kendari on 23 to 29 August 2011. Both events will also be attended by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Interesting travel and tourisms event since the previous two tourist locations is already becoming known by the tourists from various countries, even though their infrastructure to reach the location still needs to be repaired, this event will make all the fun.

Come on, Sail Indonesia 2011, Wakatobi and Belitong!
